Iza Szostak

Dancer, choreographer. A graduate of School of Ballet in Warsaw and Codarts/Rotterdam Dance Academy in Netherlands. Currently she studies in the Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology Institute at University of Warsaw. In her choreography practice she refers to authentic movement, choreology and improvisations. She is interested in causativeness of body and objects, anthropology, visual arts, work with a memory, senses and biographies. She uses choreography as a tool to create new order, new reality. Hence, she takes into account various factors which can fill this reality. In her works she verifies different strategies of embodiment. Recently she has been inspired by: child’s motor skills, mechanisms of construction machines and texture of objects/tools in carpenter’s workshop. She had led dance school for children on Mokotów in Warsaw for a few years. Currently she leads regular dance activities for seniors in Center In Motion in Warsaw. As a dance educator she collaborated with: Modern At Museum, Art Stations Foundation by Grażyna Kulczyk, Free Art Fusion, Contemporary Art Center. She is one of the founders of Center In Motion.
