Magdalena Jędra
Magdalena Jędra

Dancer, choreographer, performer. Began her career in dance at the Gdańsk Dance Theatre of Melissa Monteros and Wojciech Mochniej (1997–1999). In 2005, together with musician Grzegorz Welizarowicz and Zbigniew Bieńkowski and Anna Steller they staged their first joint performance entitled Good Girl Killer which inspired the name of their group. Jędra’s performances are closely linked to the ideas of the performance art and the site-specific performance trend. For Jędra, improvisation serves as the grounds for the creative proves and she perceives work on a performance as subjecting oneself to the process. In her artistic work she enjoys using diverse styles and means typical for the two categories of culture namely “popular culture” and “high culture”.
