Can we capture the movement? Is the dance recordable? Does the recording make it impoverished?

Similar to the note system, which lets us capture the sound – kinetography is the system of notation and analysis of the movement by Laban-Knaust. It ceases on the piece of paper the thing which is so ethereal, which goes through the time and space, which appears through the body:  dance. Simple and logical system with clear rules lets us write down every movement, despite of  a technique used to produce it. A presentation ‘Motion captured’ combines forms of a lecture and show. At the end the audience is invited to take part in the experiment of capturing a movement. The presentation has taken place on pilot programme of Centrum Sztuki Tańca. It has been dedicated in memoriam of a great researcher Ph.D. Grażyna Dąbrowska and great choreologist Roman Arndt both of whom passed away last year.
