We propose practical research allowing the deepening of the body and space consciousness in individual and collective work. In our work we refer to basic techniques of physical theatre combined with elements of contemporary dance and yoga. We search for individual expression. In addition, we search for conscious and personal composition in relation to dramaturgic structure of chosen cultural text (literature, film, music). Firstly, part of the activities is dedicated to building movement structures based on individual and group improvisations. Secondly, we focus on the improvement of movement creativity, acknowledging and widening movement range as well as individual psycho-physical abilities. Also partnering is a very important element of the workshop. We will develop cautiousness to partner’s propositions and ability to answer her/him, as well as understanding partner’s (actor’s/performer’s) body.
The programme will contain physical training (motor skills, relaxation and flexibility exercises) and creative work (improvisation, dynamic usage of a space, composition exercises including: composition, dramaturgy and editing technique).
During the workshops we create choreography-text using individual improvisations performed by participants. Our workshops are addressed to youth and adults. Their goal is an artistic and cultural education with use of theatre and interactive education techniques.
They have either one time or cyclical character and they have steady structure of workshop activities, which gradually introduce participants into theatrical theory and praxis.
Workshops are being led by the team of Teatr Sztuka Nowa: Dawid Żakowski, Maciej Tomaszewski, Kamil Polański, Vera Popova, Piotr Piotrowicz, Małgorzata Trajkowska.
