CONTEMPORARY DANCE WORKSHOPS

The classes are aimed at people who through the practice of contemporary dance techniques want to work out the skills of conscious use of the movement possibilities of the whole body. In the teaching of modern dance, the teacher puts special focus on the development of awareness of the work the center of the dancing body and on building spatial-motor relationships between all possible body parts. An important aim of the course is also awareness of the functioning of the movement in the three-dimensional space using the concept of body weight and the possibility of combining movement sequences closed at a certain time (usually in conjunction with the music). The body of practicing contemporary dance acquires the ability of independent creation of movement, developing its vividness, resilience, strength, coordination and orientation in space. The classes are composed of short dance sequences based on techniques of modern dance, taking place at all levels of space – from work on the floor into jumping. An additional, aside of motor aspect of the contemporary dance practice is challenging expression and emotions in a dancing person.
